
State of Iowa Rental Assistance Program
The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) is currently providing rent and mortgage assistance to households that have experienced lost income due to the pandemic. The COVID-19 Iowa Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention Program can pay for up to four months of rent. Applications are only accepted at the link below.
South Central Iowa Community Action Program Limited Rent Assistance Program
SCICAP can help if you are behind on rent or mortgage in some situations. To qualify, you must meet program income guidelines, and must be in one or more of the following categories:
- You need help with a deposit or first month’s rent for a house or apartment where your rent is based on your income (subsidized housing).
- You are enrolled in Community Action’s Family Development and Self-Sufficiency (FaDSS) program, Parents as Teachers, Early Head Start program, or Head Start program.
- You need mobile home lot rent.
