Cash Donations
For over 55 years, SCICAP has helped low-income families in south central Iowa overcome their barriers to living a life of self-sufficiency and create the future they want for themselves and their children. A great deal has changed in that 55 years, but one constant remains: We can’t do this essential work without the support of dedicated community members like you. Join us to fight poverty in your community today!

Other Ways to Give
Memorials
Honoring or memorializing a loved one through a donation to Community Action is a meaningful way of paying tribute to someone special by helping those in need. Consider a charitable gift to SCICAP in your will or estate plan and help our organization work well into the future.
Donation of Goods
SCICAP also accepts non-monetary donations. Below is a list of acceptable donations.
- Books (new)
- Games and toys (new)
- Food (new)
- Personal items (new, unopened)
- School supplies and backpacks (new)
Holiday Gifts
We help to provide low-income children with holiday gifts. We always need families or organizations to donate during the holidays.
Raise Awareness
Another very important way to help low-income families is by raising awareness in the community. We encourage you to write your politicians about poverty in our community. Another option is to invite a representative of the Community Action Agency to speak to your organization or group about ways to help in your community.
