We receive funding from local, state, and federal grants. However, budget cuts and increasing energy costs cause these funds to run short and the needs of some low-income families go unmet. South Central Iowa Community Action Program (SCICAP) welcomes cash donations.

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE
While SCICAP receives support from government agencies, our funding also comes from people like you who give generously throughout their lives. Consider a charitable gift to SCICAP in your will or estate plan and help our organization work well into the future.
DONATION OF GOODS
SCICAP also accepts non-monetary donations. Below is a list of acceptable donations.
- Games and toys(new)
- Canned or boxed food (new)
- Paper products such as toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, etc. (new, unopened)
- Hygiene products such as toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc. (new, unopened)
- School supplies and backpacks (new)
We help provide low-income children with holiday gifts. We always need families or organizations to donate during the holidays.
An easy way to help low-income families is by raising awareness in the community. We encourage you to write your politicians about poverty in our communities. A representative of our agency would be available to speak to your organization or group about ways to help in your community.
